Paul attended the University of Oklahoma on a scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1981 with a concentration in Marketing and Finance. Following graduation he was commissioned as a Regular Army Officer into the US ARMY where he served with the 82nd Airborne Division until 1985. During Paul’s service, he achieved the rank of Captain while earning his Master Parachute Wings for successfully completing Jumpmaster School and exceeding sixty-five airborne parachute jumps. After fulfilling his obligation, Paul moved to Arizona and became licensed as a Real Estate Agent. He began investing in real estate and soon saw the importance of expanding his knowledge into mortgage lending. Shortly thereafter, Paul became licensed as a Mortgage Broker and, in 1986, began his career in the mortgage industry as a Residential Loan Officer for California Federal Mortgage. Paul later joined State Savings Bank in 1989, where he became a Senior Loan Officer, achieving numerous awards for loan production activities. State Savings Bank was acquired by Fifth Third Bank in 1998, and was subsequently acquired by M&I Bank in 2001. After 13 years with the bank, Paul made the decision to start his own company. He formed Regency Mortgage in 2001, where he currently works as President of the company. In addition to operating his mortgage company, Paul owns and operates several real estate investment and development companies. His experience brings together a unique background in the banking and lending industries with that of real estate investment. Paul has been involved in various community organizations, most notably serving as Secretary and Treasurer on the Board of Mesa First Assembly, as well as chairing the Finance Committee for the Capital Building Campaign in 2003. Paul has been married to his lovely wife, Martha, for 26 years and has three sons. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling and scuba diving.
